The Bankers Club, Amoda Building

I first received Mich’s wedding invitation early this year {{{(>_<)}}} Well, finally D actual day arrived on Sept. 25 and it’s@The Bankers Club, Amoda Building. Bankers Club is a penthouse located at 21st floor of Amoda building.

The first time I heard about The Bankers Club, I thought it’s some kind of exclusive club for high- ranked bank executives. Well, apparently, membership was expensive and not so easily available on those days. It was akin to the gentlemen’s clubs that used to be so popular in London back then. Today, it is still a prestigious establishment to belong to but members are no longer limited to those in the banking circle but senior business executives and community leaders.

Niways, here are the some highlights of their Big Day- I love its elegant gallery style western banquet ^^ The most romantic part of the wedding is not the walking down from the spiral staircase ceremony. Nor the 10 minutes fame of dance in the ballroom. No, what makes the wedding special is that two couples in love are finally tying the knot. Which invariably leads to one more moment of awesomeness in the chapter of their life. And…well, you can imagine where this is leading ^o^ Like I said, awesomeness~ Have a blissful marriage,Mich!

I ♥ Hong Kong-Part 2

My apologies for lack of movement on this blog -____-" (though not sure if anyone is reading *paiseh*) Niways, here’s a couple of backlogged entries from the HK trip ^^v

Welcome to Central- a place for designer shopping (but not for a cheapo shopaholic like me #^_^#)

Lan Fong Yuen- A good place to start off your day with typical HK breakfast ^^

I had a sip on the signature “pantyhose milk tea”. It was smooth & velvety ^^

D’s pork chop bun was crisp at the outside and soft in the inside, a must have for pork burger’s lovers!

Our stomachs can still fit in the irresistible dried nissin noodles hehe Note: my chubby face & bulging stomach #^_^#

The ever famous Tai Cheong Bakery for its tarts, love the silky smooth & creamy egg centre ^^

Passed by Yung Kee- famous for its roasted goose but also very expensive o

It’s time to go back to the hotel after we stomached down these goodies. Will be back with Ocean Park entry =))) Till then, cheerioz!

I ♥ Hong Kong-Part 1

Finally I managed to step on HK after much hype about me going there few months back #^_^# HK has always been on my top list for a country where I've always wanted to visit, yippee! Owell, thanks to all the HK dramas which I’ve been exposed to since young. This is actually the 2nd self-organised overseas trip with D ^^ Albeit this is our 2nd trip, this HK self-organised trip is quite hastily planned compared to our previous trip. We just managed to get the itinerary roughly drawn up 2-3 days before~ This time we strike off Macau and Disneyland~

After a reasonably quick 3.5 hours flight, the plane touched down and the journey began ^.^v Our first plan when we reached HK is to get an Octopus card each for our travels around. D & me purchased our Octopus card at the MTR station and then got the train to Mong Kok where we stayed. **P/s: Get a map for anyone visiting HK! After train journey from airport to Mongkok, a bus ride and some walking distance, we slumped on our single bed in the Dragon hostel in Mong Kok, phew!~

Breakfast@Dao Hiang Dim Sum,Nathan Rd.,Mongkok

yummy "ha gow" (prawn dumplings) *slurppp*

Compatible with Din Tai Fung's “xiao long bao” (small steamed bun) *yumzz*

Had a pinch for this cutey polo buns ^^

i luv' my "har cheong fun" =)

Can’t resist their “siu mai” too __y

We spent the evening shopping at Fa Yuen street and Ladies street ^^ But, end up with nothing. They were many stalls appeared to repetitively the same like; same jewellery, same clothes, same shoes and same electronics. Owell, it’s a street full of vibrant, reminds me of the movie “72 Tenant” ^^

At night, we headed to HK’s SoHo “Lan Kwai Fong” to have our dinner and sightseeing. There were several stunning (but expensive) looking restaurants and long queue restaurants to choose from. So, we just settled for a simple dinner in one of the “cha char teng”. I had a bowl of wantan mee and refreshing tung ling cha” (Ice Lemon Tea) ^_^

D's saliva-dropping 'char kai fan' ;pppp

We then dragged our tired arses to Avenue of stars ; the Hollywood walk of fame (only recognised Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee!) and the view across to HK Island (pics) ^^ and we managed to catch the 27 Symphony of Lights *drools*

We managed to make time at the end of d night with a refreshing dessert supper in Hui Lau Shan dessert (It’s all over HK!!!) It serves hundreds of varieties of hot and cold desserts, but I luv’ their mango dessert the most =) In fact, they even have introduced a mango series! Give it a shot if you visit HK and if you are one of the mango manias {{{(>_<)}}}

Yoga

I haven’t been posting much since two months back, not due to neglect, but due to my mum’s condition. I’ve been busy chit-chatting with her for the past two weeks, just to keep her occupied *obedient daughter look*

Niways, some updates about me. For the past few weeks, me & pe attended yoga class in Kuchai once a week. Overall, I’d say it’s doing good, although I’ve had to bear the aftermath muscle pain for the first few classes. But, it does help me to sleep better at night and more energized on day time. I’m not sure if it’s due to psychological effect, but, indeed I feel calmer at work ~ommm~

But, of late, I sense something wrong with my eyes. I had eyes surgery when I was young due to the nature born red skin in my cornea (if you know well/ look@me close enough), you would’ve noticed it. Nope, I’m not having conjunctivitis. But, rather, thick, yellowish discharge in the corners of my eyes. At times, it was so overwhelming that it blurred my eyesight. And it was to a point that my colleague got shocked when they saw my uncontrollable thick and yellowish pus flowing out from my eyes *yea, it was that gross* Not sure if the yoga is discharging the ‘toxin’ from my eyes, but, looks like I gotta see dr. tomorrow =( Hope nothing serious happen to my eyes and just mere bacteria infection~

P/s: Thanks for all the warm wishes and caring visits to my mum. It surely makes her a happier patient =)

XOXO

Amusement@work

Sometimes it's amusing working where I'm working. My colleagues are a happy bunch of people though stress comes along the way. We occasionally crack jokes in between our email exchange or face-to-face chit-chatting. It's great. It sends out good vibes and their interest encourages and motivates us. This particular joke however lasted for a couple of days if not weeks -____-

*Warning- Not Suitable for Minors of 18 Years Old. If You Have Less Age Read at Your Own Risk*.

Chlo (my colleague from production department) called me on my line…..
Chlo: Hey, u got a delegate….
Me: Yup…Finally got one for your event hehe
Chlo: But then......Your delegate’s name is kinda er.…er….*burst out into laughter*

(office hour)
Me: =.= I dun get u….
Chlo: *still on infectious laugh mode* His name….hahahahaha….
Me: Oh,u mean his family name?! Dat’s not very nice….*to be revealed*
Chlo: But then is just soooo funny…..I can’t stop laughing hahhahahha…..
Me: ……………

Afew minutes later, I dropped by my other colleague, Jassie from the operations department to pass her the documents…
Jas: *Reading out the delegate name and laughed out loud*
Me: And u again……=.=
Jas: Don’t you think is FUNNY?! His name is *Pete Cock….
Me: Dat’s not very nice…..I just don’t understand why u and Chlo can laugh over it for so long…..
Jas: In tears mode, imagine your name…Catherine Nen Nen

Me: Jaw dropped, eyes narrowed... Covered my mouth with my palm and laughed uncontrollably….
Me: *Tried to regain my composure* Omg, u galz r too much la….*Walked back to my cubicle*

Phone rang again…
*Laughter at the other side*
Me: Yaya, I heard about it…
Chlo: Now v r goin to call u Ms.NN….
Me: Great…

So much for a stressful day….

*Names have been changed to protect identity*

Thomas Cup:Malaysia beat Denmark@3-2 in the Quaterfinals

After much abuzz of the Thomas cup this morning in office,I was propel not to miss the quarter-finals today! *gung-ho* Me and colleagues were chit-chatting over yesterday match on how Japan took on Malaysia team. Surely,it was a disappointment as Japan was seen as the blackhorse in the match and unassumingly made way as the group champion for the quater-final matches.

Following yesterday lost,Malaysia team was coming back strong tonight in the battle with Denmark. Surely enough, Md Hafiz Hashim prove his worth with his aggressive prowess against Danish player;Joachim Persson. He managed to salvage the team and clinched the winning point in the decider thus placing the team to Semi Final (^.^v

P/s: All the best Malaysia team! U guys can do it! Boleh! Boleh! Boleh!

♥ Ice Kacang Puppy Love ♥

It was D first ladies movie night with my colleagues on some Friday ^^ After much hype about this movie which was scheduled to be released back in September 2009, here comes the instalment of our local production. A movie that gathers a bunch of top Malaysian chinese artist which story was set in early 80s in Penang. Sweet! We all had our share of laughter and shed afew tears (me- being a crying baby & chloe- being the sentimental one) #^_^#

Well, basically, the story is your cliché boy-next-door falls in love with the sassy kind of girl. To illustrate further, it revolves around a shy boy- Botak (AhNiu) and a brave girl- Da Jia Yu (Lee Sinje) who secretly admires her along with other likable characters of supporting cast: neat and tidy Prince Charming with “karipop” hairstyle (Victor Wong), your typical Ah Beng (Gary Chaw), quiet girl who's always sucking on a ice packet drink (Fish Leong) and among other fun characters.

This movie is about growing up stories, friendship blossom to love, mischievous pranks and childhood dreams. Remember the marble game? Playing fighting fishes? Humming to the hit song? Being rebellious & innocent? Or simply starting to develop feelings for the opposite gender? It rekindles fond memories of our childhood and teens which simply brought smile and laughter to us. * Chloe had an infectious laughter when the fat girl appeared on the screen with her rainbow make-up. CW made it a point to apply it on Monday! Lolz

I love the simple story with beautiful cinematography ( ^_^ ) It was like watching an international movie, somewhere along the last international movie I watched, Departure (Japanese movie). There are a lot of wonderful scenes with unique way of capturing the scenes. Nice!

NB: Go watch if you haven’t and be warned of roller coaster emotions!

Date Night

Den and I try and do a date night every week together. The catch is, we try and do something new together every time to keep us interesting #^_^# *aging factor* Last Saturday, we went to Tom, Dick & Harry’s restaurant cum pub located at TTDI, KL. Cosy spot to hang around, waiters are really friendly and dishes are ok but pricey. We started out with a bowl of creamy mushroom soup ^^ The porky dishes are popular there so Den picked on curry pork dish along with their specialties: toast and papadam. Me on d other hand, still stick to my all time fav.: creamy & cheesy spaghetti carbonara…yum!

We rounded the night off with a drink at La Bodega@Bangsar and voila! We had a lot of fun playing scrabble that night. It somehow sparked that problem-solving part of our brains which in turn brought out the cheekiness between us. The brain chemistry that is sparked off by doing something novel and fun builds a completely different rapport to what we have been together any other time in the week.

It was a silly and hilarious date night but a bunch of fun and though I loss, it was just as fun ∩__∩y

Romance Factor: 3/5
Fun Factor: 4/5
